Noticing at least one neighbor has already set up her Christmas Patio display was all I needed to take time away from working on the baby quilt, time away from preparing to head out tomorrow, to get started on my decorations.
Not wanting to wear myself out, I limited my activities to stringing lights on the patio, putting out the Christmas doormat and wreath. The outdoor tree and lighted gift boxes can wait until I return on Friday. If I'm tired from the drive, it won't happen until Saturday.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, Turkey Day, Stolen Land Day, however you call it.
I just calls it Thanks Day, thanking the universe for the good things in life this year.
ReplyDeleteDrive safe; have fun!
Thanks Day works. Who cooks the turkey ... you or Carlos?
DeleteStolen Land Day... you have such a way with Words my Friend, my Dad would have laughed heartily at that one! He always used to joke that perhaps his People never should have Invited those Pilgrim Guests for Dinner!
ReplyDeleteNo good deed.
DeleteI hope you have a nice Thanksgiving to Shirley. And eat to much!!!!! You have the pain cave after all.
ReplyDeleteBecause of my gut issues, I'm probably the only one in the family that didn't overeat.
DeleteI like your Christmas patio (so far). Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving! Doing a turkey trot?
ReplyDeleteI really wanted to do a trot, but couldn't register online for the one in the area I was to be in. Looked into just showing up, but nixed that when I saw the promoter suggested participants carpool because parking was an issue. If parking is a problem at a 5K, I'm out. Too much of a headache.
DeleteHope your trip is enjoyable and Happy Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteHope your day was enjoyable and happy as well.
DeleteDrive careful! Love the Santa belt decor! Yep, we stole that land. At least should have been more grateful. Aced Oklahoma History in high school: we were pretty nasty reversing treaties. Of course, later we stole the Hawaiian islands. Is there a contest for Christmas decor?
ReplyDeleteLinda in Kansas
I heard there's to be a contest, but unless I see the Tyrant put it in writing on a bulletin, I'm skeptical. If there is a contest, I spotted a neighbor's patio on the other side of this building that's sure to win.
DeleteHope your holiday is a good one! (love Stolen Land Day)
ReplyDeleteI had such a good time that I probably won't dread next year. Lol.
DeleteI hope you had a nice Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteIt was a good time. Did you and your daughter do anything special?
DeleteI never had my first grade students dressed up as Native Americans. They only wore Pilgrim hats since the peace between the two peoples only lasted a little over 50 years.
ReplyDeleteThat was a good idea. You were ahead of the times in your thinking.
