Stop Me If You Can

It’s a two post kind of day because, though it’s difficult to see through the  gate, if you look closely, you can just make out damage done to the mail center last night.

The entire left side of boxes have been peeled back like an aluminum can. It also looks like the thief had begun on the right side, where my box is located, but was interrupted. Even left his net behind.

I imagine the net is to hold his loot and, adding insult to injury, I recognize the net as having come from our pool area.

No doubt he’ll return tonight to retrieve the net, finish the job of tearing down the right side, steal what's in those boxes as well.

I couldn’t get a better photo of the damage because, when I went down this afternoon to pick up mail, discovered the damage, I couldn't get the gate to open, the mail thief has locked us residents out. LOL.

Our keys no longer work.

Only the mail thief has access now.

If I were management, I’d have the net dusted for prints before he returns tonight to retrieve it, finish his nefarious job. I'd also position someone to stake the mail center out, catch him when he returns.

Fat chance of management doing either. Too busy catching cats.

It's almost like this guy is taking all preventive measures management takes as a challenge, laughing at management ... ha ha ha, you can't stop me.

Evidently, he's right. There is no stopping him.

At any rate, it appears no one is going to receive mail for a while. We’re all going to have to go to the post office to pick it up.

After Monday's workout, I’ll be heading for the UPS store to purchase a post office box, and have all my mail forwarded to that location.

There's more than one way to skin a cat.

  1. "to purchase a post office box"
That's what I was thinking to suggest when you said it!
Next put some kind of glitter bomb in your box.

    1. Glitter bomb would be fun. Would also help identify the culprit as he'd never get it all off. LOL.

  2. Maybe if the residents all complained to the USPS they'd take offense and contact management.

    1. Oh, I'm sure the postal service is and has been involved. Probably told management would be no more deliveries here unless management did something and, to be honest, management has tried. Only think that's going to work is if they catch the guy.

    1. You have no idea and, at this point, mail will not be delivered ... period. One, because even the postal worker can't get into the gate now. Two, even if she could get in, she wouldn't be leaving mail in those trashed out boxes.

  4. Makes you wonder what kind of human would do such a thing.

  5. Can you complain to the Postmaster about this? Once, when we had Mail Theft problems we did that and since it's a Federal Offense to tamper with Mail, you can get results beyond whatever Management is doing that isn't working effectively enough. It's too bad we can't go back to the Old School way of to the Door Delivery, Mail Slots in individual Doors to ensure your own Mail is only touched by you and your Mailman. Have you considered it could be someone IN the Complex's Staff that is doing this and that's why it's been covered up or ignored?
