  1. The Paddington bear skit was too cute. She'll be greatly missed.

    1. The long version, which I was unable to capture, shows the Queen being escorted out by Paddington. You just see their backs. I thought it so sweet. It was sorta like she was leaving here and being escorted away by Paddington.

  2. It's even sad for U.S. folks, like we know the last of the gracious leaders has gone. (But I really want to know what she carried in that ever-present black purse, besides a marmalade sandwich.) She even had it with her in one of the pics with the new PM, in her own home. Linda in Kansas

    1. So many tributes in the US for such a fine lady. Flags are at half-staff and I've noticed my laptop is displaying a mourning ribbon. It would be interesting to know what else was in that purse.

    1. Yes. It could have ended with Paddington thanking her for everything.

  6. I started life across the pond. The Queen has been a constant in my life since her coronation. Very sad time. I was once honored to see her at her birthday parade, such a tiny little lady on this huge black horse. Magnificent.

    1. I saw her son, the now King, when he came to Los Angeles years ago and made an impromptu visit to City Hall. I climbed a pole to get a look at him over the crowd. I can still see the what the hell look on his face when he looked over at the crowd, saw me, in a dress, halfway up the street sign pole. He's got some big shoes to fill because though his mom was tiny she carried herself well, had a huge impact.
