It’s the first of Halloween!
So, let’s get this party started.
That dancing skeleton was one of many cool Halloween goodies I resisted purchasing, because I need to get rid of stuff, rather than bring in more.
Thus it was, I also passed on this bloody shirt ……
I actually could have used this knife holder all year round, but don’t have the counter space. So, I passed on it as well.
Body in a bag had me ROFLMAO, when I spotted it at Walmart. However, to put something like that in my patio display, when there is so much sickness and dying on the complex, would have been incredibly insensitive.
Already surprised I've not gotten into trouble for my skeleton, a body in a bag would for sure have gotten me evicted.
This murder cat vinyl wall decal was too cute to resist, so I bought it — but not for myself, a Halloween gift for a friend I thought might appreciate the humor.
I did spurge a little on the front door decor — dispensed with the candy corn wreath and mat I’ve displayed last few years, and this year moved over to the dark side, with an eerie twig wreath and headless horseman mat.
Then |
Now |
I really wanted a Wednesday Addams doormat, couldn't find one I liked, but I'm satisfied with the horseman.
Skelly the skeleton is comfortably seated on the patio, with his broom at the ready to escape, fly off the patio when triple digit heat returns this week.
Lastly, the pumpkin I won at bingo has been given a facelift with gauze and paint.
How it started |
How it ended |
I did not intend the pumpkin to come out so gruesome. However, inasmuch as it is what it is, I now wish I’d put 45’s face on it, blackened and bloodies its eyes and mouth.
45's face on that pumpkin would have gladden my heart!
ReplyDeleteParanormal John
Missed opportunity to stick it to 45.
DeleteOMG, that "Problem Solved" t-shirt, lol! And I love the Murder Cat wall decal, your Headless Horseman door mat, and how you've upgraded your pumpkin!
ReplyDeleteGlad you like murder cat because you're the friend I thought would appreciate the humor. Should arrive in a week or two. Let me know if Her Royal Highness hunches up, hisses and spits at murder cat.
DeleteThank you so much! What a wonderful surprise! You are so thoughtful, Shirley. You've made my day! I'll let you know when it arrives and of course, I'll blog about it too. P.S. I see you changed your profile photo as well for the month -- such a fab costume you had last year!
DeleteThat profile pic, like the header, is too perfect not to use again and again. I ran into murder cat around the time you'd posted black cat controversy and knew was perfect for you. Enjoy!
DeleteThat is one dramatic pumpkin transformation!
ReplyDeleteI really like your "welcome" mat / wreath upgrade too.
The seniors asked I show them how I decorated the pumpkin, but I don't think they can handle it, LOL.
DeleteLove the pumpkin!!! The door mat is pretty cool, too.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised the mat was so large, but it works for indoor and outdoor, so a good purchase.
DeleteI have the shirt in my cart at amazon. I can think of all kinds of places I shouldn't wear it. I guess I will think on it a while.
ReplyDeleteI was really tempted to buy it, wear all month long, freak people out at the grocery store and at bingo. It's not too late for me to change my mind, buy it still, but the weather is too hot for the sleeves and fabric right now.
DeleteUpdate: Just saw this comes in a sleeveless version I can wear for workouts. I'm getting it.
DeleteI wouldn't mind that shirt, either! I also wouldn't mind 45's face on the pumpkin.
ReplyDelete45's face is made for being on pumpkins
DeleteThe pumpkin came out great. I love the headless horseman mat.
ReplyDeleteThe mat was a great find.
DeleteYou are so clever! I love that pumpkin! Love the new doormat and wreath. I can’t believe you resisted the dancing skeleton, but I also love the murder cat.
ReplyDeleteSo much fun to decorate for Halloween, even though we get no trick or treaters here.
DeleteYou're really jumping into the season with both feet!
ReplyDeleteI love Halloween. Been looking forward to it all year.
DeleteThe murder cat is surely from Ohio, waiting for DJT to visit. You could get a job decorating the store windows for Halloween. Linda in Kansas
ReplyDeleteThat cat is prepared. No one is going to be eating it.
DeleteI lovelovelove the shirt and the cat with the knife and the new door decor!!
ReplyDeleteI relented and bought the shirt, but a sleeveless version. Can't wait to freak the bingo players out.
DeleteLove the cat! I'd display it with a DJ Vance photo.
ReplyDeleteA murder sofa would be more appropriate for that guy.
