Same Old Same Old

Nothing interesting or exciting since last post and remainder of week looks to be the same – housework, grocery shopping, cooking, needlepoint, PokémonGo.

There are absolutely no activities here at the complex the entire month, except for the 18th, when management is hosting a Thanksgiving Luncheon for us residents.

Lo and behold, it’s not a potluck -- management is totally funding the event as a gift to its residents, like in the old days – before Nurse Ratched darkened our doorsteps.

Not sure yet whether the menu on the 18th is a traditional ham, turkey, sides thing or El Pollo Loco because, when the Activity Director brought the subject up at the Halloween Potluck -- while sitting at my table, asking which we preferred, no one was paying attention, so I spoke up for Loco – which is citrus-marinated fire-grilled chicken, rice, beans, guacamole, flour tortillas, lots and lots of salsa.

I did not hear or see her poll anyone else, so there’ll probably be a lot of squabbling if it’s non-traditional, but …. oh well.

The weather heated up a bit today so, instead of heading to the University for more PokéBalls, I decided it was a good day to shampoo the carpet.  At the end of which activity, according to fiitbit, I burned 659 calories. In addition to which, I had to redo my makeup because I’d sweated off my eyebrows, foundation, and lipstick was looking ragged.

The adult building that experienced that murder sent a notice to its residents advising them of the incident, stating that it is an isolated occurrence, under police investigation. That’s true about it being isolated, unusual for that property. Yet some may panic and break their lease.

The incident doesn’t affect us at all, as that building has nothing to do with us, except us old folks have taken it upon ourselves to get all up in what goes on there and elsewhere in the neighborhood.

  1. Love El Pollo Loco! Their Mac and cheese is surprisingly good too!

  2. El Pollo was my go-to lunch when working. Have not had since retiring, but so looking forward to it.
