Ominous

That’s the word for how this week has started out ……… Ominous.

Yesterday was shake, rattle, roll with not one, not two, but three earthquakes.

Ominous.

Ain't no sunshine today. Outside is cold, dark, gloomy.

Ominous.

It’s only Tuesday, and I’m waiting for the other shoe to fall.

  1. I think Ominous is my word of the year unfortunately.

  2. I don't know if it's forecast for your part of the state, but we are supposed to get an atmospheric river through here Wednesday and Thursday, my two days at school. I have to drive across town, too, and driving in the rain is not much fun here. No one seems to consider slowing down.

    1. For the reason you stated, driving in the rain is a nightmare. Be careful out there. Take sick days maybe.

  3. Jeepers! All that shaking didn't make it to any normal news out here in the plains of Kansas. We still have a heads in the ground from sadness about losing the Super Bowl, and we still didn't feel it. Hang in there. Linda in Kansas

    1. With all our previous quakes, and now three in a row, I don't know if this old building can take much more. Sorry, but can't say I'm feeling any sadness that Travis got his arse handed to him.

  4. A lot of ominous going around these days!
    Stay safe!

  5. It's coming. But you're probably safe. You *do* live up north and inland, don't you?

    1. Inland yes, on a fault line. This building is old and not built to roll or sway in a quake. We go up, come back down hard, so I doubt the building will withstand the really big one. But I live on the top floor, so if it comes tumbling down, it's the girl on the bottom floor who will take the hit. I'll probably take a licking but keep on ticking.

  6. If any place is going to tumble to the ground could we make it DC instead?

    1. That's exactly what I thought. If the earth is grumbling because the Universe is angry about what's going on, instead taking it out on us, go after the troublemakers .... DC.

  7. Are you in the Riverside area? Does San Diego ever get quakes? Yikes! Hang on. The weather sucks in Ohio....but at least no houses shaking that I'm aware of.
Dark weather. Dark days. Dark moods. Dark thoughts. Yep. "Ominous" seems to be the word of the day. Dare I say the word for the next 4 years. God help us all.

    1. I never experienced a quake when I was living in San Diego, but I'm near enough to Riverside and surrounding cities, to experience quakes centering in those areas, not to mention this building is on a fault line.

  8. I thought you were naming the year, not the day. I hadn’t heard about your earthquakes.

    1. The year is getting way past ominous, we're heading into pure hell.

  9. California, settle down now, you hear me?

  10. I grew up in California and only felt a couple of small earthquakes. Hopefully there won't be anymore.

    1. Your mouth to God's ears .... hopefully no more quakes. Take it to Washington.

  11. Oh No, not more catastrophic Natural Events in rapid succession! It is indeed Ominous, so is everything else tho', isn't it? It all seems rather Apocalyptic and it's difficult for my Mind not to go in that direction of End Of Days, you know?

    1. That's what Twin 1 says ... End of Days. From my perspective, it's been coming to that for a long time and is now in the speed up phase.
